Creemos en conectar proyectos. Casi podríamos decir que es el objetivo central de nuestro trabajo: aportamos tecnología, ayudamos en la gestión, te ayudamos a comercializar… pero sobre todo, nos interesa conectar, y por eso Andar&Ego es punta de lanza dentro de Mi2U. Te contamos más al respecto.

Te hemos comentado que Andar&Ego nace como proyecto para hacer del turismo una herramienta: no creemos en el turismo como fin, sino como medio. En Andar&Ego queremos que vengas a visitar Oaxaca de otro modo: que conozcas a la gente y que creemos lazos; que podamos encontrar oportunidades de intercambio, que conozcas el esfuerzo de cada uno y que nos ayudes, como embajador(a), a llevar esta voz por México y el mundo.

Estamos dando los toques finales a nuestros precios y detallando las propuestas de salidas. Queremos que vengas a compartir con nosotros: aprender, reflexionar, divertirnos e intercambiar.

La semana pasada salimos con Paty a conocer la orfebrería de Oaxaca. Con ella aprendimos sobre las maravillas y secretos de la Tumba 7, con sus piezas fastuosas, elegantes, talladas a mano y llenas de detalles. Vimos también un taller donde se producen maravillosas réplicas de oro en procesos artesanales.

Con Marthita, en Jalatlaco, descubrimos uno de los barrios más tradicionales, en el que se curtía la piel y que antes estaba dividido de la ciudad de Oaxaca por un río… hoy tristemente cubierto! En la Calzada de la República identificamos algunos de los 19 personajes que la habitan y que fueron parte de nuestra historia en la época de la Reforma. Visitamos también sus murales y calles.

We believe in connecting projects. In fact, we even say that connecting is our core business: we bring in technology and help you to a better management and marketing… but our main interest is networking. This is why Andar&Ego is a spearhead in Mi2U. Let us tell you why.

Andar&Ego is a project whose quest is to make a tool out of tourism: we do not believe in tourism as an goal, but as a way to get somewhere. In Andar&Ego our intention is to offer you a different type of visit to Oaxaca: we want you to meet people and create links. We look forward for opportunities to exchange (products, knowledge, experiences) and to show the “day to day” effort of the local actors. Hopefully, if you like their work you will be willing to become an ambassador and share your experience –and their resolution to create, design, and change their square meter- with the rest of the world.

During the past weeks we’ve been tuning-up our prices and journey proposals. We are committed to the objectives of sharing, reflecting, enjoyment and learning.

Last week, we hit the pavement with Paty to learn about goldsmiths in Oaxaca. We first visited the treasures and secrets of the “Tomb 7” (the one found in Monte Alban years ago, completely untouched), with its lavish and elegant pieces, completely hand made, full of details. Additionally, our path took us to a workshop where gorgeous gold replicas of this pre-hispanic art are produced.

With Martha, in Jalatlaco, we discovered one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Oaxaca, a place famous for its tanneries until the late 50’s. Jalatlaco suburb was divided from the city by a river, today covered and converted into the “Calzada de la República”, where you can identify and learn the history of some of its 19 statues that represent important politicians from the “Reforma” era (1850- 1870, the time of the growth and organization of Mexico as a country). We also visited Jalatlaco’s murals, filled with references to the Day of the Dead. A luxe of visits!
